Behind the scenes
Latinité is the result of one of the first exercises I took at Eina school. I was lucky to be able to work with incredible type designers such as Iñigo Jerez, Laura Messeguer, Enric Jardí, Josema Uros and many others. Latinité was selected for Tipos Latinos 2010, and was also part of the "Premios de Diseño Joven" from CCEBA (Prize for Young Design by Spain’s Cultural Centre in Buenos Aires) in 2010 and 2011.

"La Graphie Latine"
This movement took place in France during the 50’s and the 60’s. It defended the human calligraphic gesture and the elegance of the mediterranean typographic style. The movement was against the neutral and structured style developed in Switzerland and Germany. La Graphie Latinité was one of the last manifestations carried out by artists, "affiche" designers and decorators against the new rationalist movement which emerged in the mid-twentieth century in Europe. Even if there is little information on the subject, the legacy is in the amazing work of some designers that were part of this movement such as Enric Crous Vidal, Maximilien vox, José Mendoza y Almeida.

Characteristics
Latinité’s proportions make it suitable for small text sizes. The low contrast is borrowed from ITC Mendoza from José Mendoza y Almeida. The calligraphic gesture are based on Enric Crous Vidal’ work, José Mendoza y Almeida and also Lexicon from Bram de Does.
